Past Research & Academic Projects (2020–2024)

The following projects were conducted during tenure as Associate Professor and Director of the Sino-Pak Center for Artificial Intelligence at Pak-Austria Fachhochschule (2020–2024).

Federated Learning for Power System Optimization Using federated learning to exchange flexibility in the power grid while maintaining privacy of individual models.

Decentralized AI on Edge IoT for Illegal Wood Cutting Detection Tiny ML-based audio detection system deployed on low-power microcontrollers communicating over LoRa WAN to identify illegal wood cutting activity in forests.

HVAC Predictive Maintenance Collaboration with National Centre for Physics, Pakistan, to model air processor faults and implement predictive maintenance algorithms using sensor data.

MLOps Platform Engineering Deployed MLOps platform on Kubernetes cluster providing end-to-end development solutions (1,200 GPU cores, 3.7 TiB RAM, 600 GB GPU RAM).

Proxmox-Based Hypervisor for HPC Deployed HPC platform with 2,352 CPUs, 5.37 TiB RAM, 700 TiB disk space for data lake applications.
